It's an old wine bottle, with a twig I painted green (saved from my Christmas mantle scape).
I honestly have no clue where this came from. We don't drink this wine. And I have no idea why it was sitting in a corner of the basement (although I have a hunch it might have something to do with Mr. RBR's failed attempt at home brewing beer). However it ended up here, I remembered seeing a similarly shaped vase at TJ Maxx a couple days ago. For $20. So after I scraped the label off with a razor, this discarded bottle went to work as a vase.
Sometimes I need to be reminded that it can be that easy and to get a new look. Especially after spending hours painting a relatively small chunk of wall. Notice that pattern behind the vase?
Pretty simple.
Pretty.
Simple.
The wall treatment, not as simple to do. But still pretty!
Do you need a new vase? I think it's a great excuse to buy a gigantic jug o' wine.
It's, ahem, for decorating purposes only, honey.
Tutorial for what is probably the most amazing wall treatment I've ever done tomorrow. (It may even beat the monster truck).
Now go make something!
This bottle has such a pretty shape. Guess I'd better get to work drinking a jug of wine!

I love the shape of this bottle! Way to recycle and re use! Such talent. I'd love to have you link this to my VIP party today @ http://designergarden.blogspot.com/2011/03/vip-party-7.html
ReplyDeleteI LOVE using wine bottles to decorate. I have a few around our home. The color is amazing!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty with the green twig! I just made a lamp with a Livingston bottle. Horrible wine but great craft potential ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't drink wine, and don't know many people who do (and the ones who do, I don't think drink that), but I wanna get my hands on one of those awesome bottles! :D
ReplyDeleteI'm coming back to see your wall treatment!
ReplyDeleteLibbie - that's so funny.
ReplyDeleteMuralimanohar - it's still a cheap vase, even if you dump out the wine! :)
I save all my pretty wine bottles but...I always leave the labels on...especially if they are tiny works of art. :))
ReplyDeleteYour bottle is really nice.
I kind of want to go out and buy some jug wine now! I also use wine bottles to decorate...check out some of my uses:
