Hello boring clipboards. Let me introduce you to one of my favorite design philosophies.
Interesting shape (ornate, simple, classic or familiar) + unexpected color = new fun accessory.
Was, a boring clipboard. Now, frames in the boys' room.
A little red spray paint was all I needed to give them some "wow". And to hang them sideways, I used Command strips.
Ah, who am I kidding. Is anyone looking at the clipboards? The boys are too dang cute.
I took these pictures of the boys this fall. We went apple picking at an orchard, and I brought along two children's chairs for a quick photo shoot. They turned out so cute, and I'm so proud of myself because this was my first "real" photo shoot of the boys.
Look at Zack the ham. And he's usually the QUIET one! ha!
Linking to some of these parties.
What a clever idea! And they almost have a rustic look to them. Very cute.

ReplyDeleteLove this idea!!! Where did you get the smaller clipboards? I have never worked with spray paint before, so when you spray painted the clip part, did it stick to board when it dried?

btw, I am a follower now! :)
Thanks for all the kind comments! I think I got the smaller clipboards at Office Max? It was definitely a office supply store. I used an all purpose red spray paint that said it'd work on wood and metal--and just went to town! No special prep and done in a flash. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I featured you on my blog:

ReplyDeleteI redo clipboards too. It's so fun! I love Zack's expression on the last photo. Zach and Clayton will make great older brothers to Delaney. I thought someone had to buy something to get credit by looking at the ads? Interesting to know they don't. I'll ck out the ads for u. :)

ReplyDeleteKat - regarding ads. They pay a little for each "view" more for a click, and more for a purchase. Thanks for the clicks!
Aw man! Another awesome idea! I love it! I saw someone use the paperclip thingy to a piece of wood but this is so much easier! Can I feature you on my blog?
